The hoo har to the right is all very well and good, but what you really want is the important facts.

    Rubber flip-flops are also called ‘Jandals’. Not thongs. Thongs are something else. Jandals are optimised for walking forwards, not backwards.

Jonathan Stening is a New Zealand born website designer and developer who specialises in the development of WordPress websites using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and valid & semantic coding practices. He‘s learning to point a camera too.

Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Commerce double major in Computer Science and Information Systems from the University of Canterbury, and the NZ Diploma of Business and Diploma of Information Systems from the College of Education. He currently resides in New Zealand USA Canada Ireland Argentina Australia.

While Jonathan has a educational background in Software Engineering and Business Computing, his real passion is working with the web. He finds building websites allows him to tap into his more creative design side, while also satisflying his more structured programming background. Jonathan taught himself the ‘ins and outs’ of designing and coding for the web a number of years ago; following tutorials, reading whatever he stumbled upon and basically learning through trial and error.

Over the past 15 years Jonathan has worked as an employee in businesses; both client-side and within digital agencies, and for himself as a freelance website designer and developer. He has produced a large number of valid & semantic websites over this time, for a variety of clients around the world.

I have an excellent coding standard, my markup is thoroughly tested for cross-browser compatibility and meets W3C standards. I also have exposure to SEO principles and best practices, follow and incorporate modern interface design trends, hand-code all front and back-end development and have great communication skills. I am comfortable collaborating with others and have a real passion for the web.

Interests

Jonathan’s interests include digital design, photography, music and a number of sports such as snowboarding, wakeboarding, cycling and generally keeping fit. He enjoys traveling and has been privileged to live and travel overseas numerous times over the years.
